David Harneiss

Having served for 7 years in the RAF and been deployed to the Falkland Islands, Germany and the Ascension Islands; Dave then went on to serve for 22 years with the British Transport Police as a Detective Sargent.

Dave spent the majority of his service over seeing the pro-active pick pocket and robbery team based in central London however during his service he also worked at New Scotland Yard for two years working on the counter terrorism intelligence unit where he received a letter of commendation from the FBI.

Dave was also most notably known for being the Sgt co-ordinating the central London police intelligence bureau during the London 7/7 bombings.

Dave’s most notable memory from his police service was dealing with the 7/7 bombings and the next day London being awarded the 2012 Olympic games.

He says “It was a week of mixed emotions for me in my career, one day dealing with the destruction of the bombings and the next the happiness of knowing we would be hosting the Olympics but then that’s policing, you never know what one day will be like to the next.

Outside of work Dave likes Clay Pigeon Shooting and Rugby.
